Chances to Check Out Downtown Housing
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES —
Yesterday I got up early and went on DCBID’s Saturday Housing Bus Tour. Hal and company lead these tours twice a month, taking visitors to visit five or six Downtown properties (or sales centers, depending on the situation.
This particular tour took fifty potential Downtown residents (and some who already live here) to visit Packard Lofts, Library Court, Market Lofts (sales center), Pan American Lofts, Biscuit Company Lofts (sales center) and Sky Lofts. I took some photos and have put a set together showing the places we visited.
I enjoy these tours for a pair of reasons: it’s a chance to get into properties I’m curious about and it’s a chance to reconnect with what people are saying as they look at Downtown properties. Several tour-goers were already blogdowntown readers, which was cool.
Coming up soon is an even better chance to see what’s on the market Downtown, as the yearly Downtown Living Weekend rolls around March 10th and 11th. Sixteen properties will be participating. Sign up on the DCBID site. Walking around is free, but for $15 you can get access to shuttles running a loop between the properties.

# on Feb.18.2007 AT 04:05 PMhee hee.. you came by our building! =) when we took the tour in Sept. they didn't show us any of the penthouses though.. that's kind of neat. They must really be pushing those $3500.00 specials..

# on Feb.18.2007 AT 11:28 PMnice meeting you on the tour. it seems like you see the same condos/lofts all the time (i.e. the ones that can afford adspace and fancy websites). you should do a special on some of the lesser known, not-so in-your-face projects out there (that hopefully have lower rents or HOAs)... although the exposure might change that.

# on Feb.20.2007 AT 01:48 PMwell I finally got registered for the 10th (the free one cause I don't have a car and figure walking will be good for me) after finding the link.. on the site.. according to the registration you don't have to be registered to attend either day or both, but I figure if there's anything I missed the first time around maybe they'll let me come back. I'm looking forward to checking out some of the places that haven't been on the downtown housing schedule that I went on previously as well to see how some of the other places that were, are coming along.
Maybe I'll see some familiar faces there! =) thanks again!
