Monday: Regional Connector with Metro and DLANC

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES —

Last month Metro presented their initial build alternatives for the Regional Connector, a project intended to tie together L.A.’s light rail lines. Five of the eight alternatives presented would run at-grade down 2nd street, closing the street to vehicle service.

On Monday, Metro will be attending a meeting of DLANC’s Transportation Committee to present these alignments again, as well as to discuss possible options for separating auto and train traffic at the intersection of 1st and Alameda. The public is encouraged to come and discuss the impact different build options would have on Downtown, and in the end the committee will be looking to past a recommendation on to the DLANC board to officially enter the council’s opinion.

The meeting will be Monday, March 24th, at 6:30pm and will be held at the New LATC (514 S. Spring Street). Also on the agenda is information about a streetcar conference planned for Downtown in May.
