Federal Courthouse a Billion Dollar "Boondoggle"
The AP looks at a report issued by the federal Governmental Accountability Office, which calls the proposed courthouse as 1st and Broadway (former site of the Old State Building) a boondoggle. $33 million has been spent on site acquisition and design, but cost estimates of nearly $1 billion are many times higher than has been allocated.
