The newly approved route will run in a clockwise circuit, passing by Little Tokyo, Central City East and the Flower Market. The DASH A route will be modified...

Connector routing as art: a sketch by former LADOT Assistant GM James Okazaki. Next week Metro is holding a pair of meetings on the Regional Connector, a project designed to create through-trips for the agency's light rail lines. Unlike November's meetings, which were just about taking opinions, with no feedback or Q&A, this time Metro has some possible...

Bicycle at Radio Hill

How can the city of Los Angeles better plan for bicycles? New Racks

The Arts District looks to get a little more bike friendly soon, with markings for bike racks showing up this week. The neighborhood is already heavily biked, but has offered little in terms of a place to lock up. Much more about this soon, but the city's Bicycle Master Plan process starts up soon. The first meeting will be held on Saturday, February 16th...

Second Street Sidewalk

As I started reading Christopher Hawthorne's piece on pedestrian unfriendly street changes near LAMCA, I was thinking to myself, "This is just like 2nd street." Two thirds of the way down Hawthorne himself makes the connection. As part of [LACMA] expansion, designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano, the museum proposed extending a drop-off lane along...

Someone didn't get the memo...

It was a little over a week ago that Flexcar/Zipcar announced it was pulling out of Southern California, but you wouldn't know it to see this lot on Hope street, between 7th and 8th. Cars had been pulled in the weeks prior, with the company saying they would be back as soon as the electronics were replaced with the Zipcar version.
