Eric Richardson was born in the heart of South Carolina and spent time in New Jersey and Michigan before winding up in California. He moved to Los Angeles in 2001 to attend USC, where he majored in Communications.

In May of 2004, Eric moved a few miles away from campus to Downtown's Historic Core. That August he was elected to the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council, a position in which he served until the fall of 2007.

Eric started blogging in November of 1998, back when "weblog" was still the predominant term. His non-Downtown writings can now be found at e;blog.

Professionally, Eric is a developer for the Agathon Group, a high-end web development company. He formerly headed up interactive work for Cartifact, a Downtown mapping firm. Eric's wife Kathy also works Downtown, as a teacher at Oscar De La Hoya Animo Charter High School.
