MPAA Cameras in the Fashion District
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — The new MPAA-funded cameras in the Fashion District are up now. I enjoyed a quote from this article on p2pnet:
“The MPAA is delighted to assist the fine and dedicated efforts of Los Angeles law enforcement officials in catching people selling illegal DVDs,” said MPAA mouthpiece John G. Malcolm.
“It is our pleasure to assist them with these cameras which will help them lift a rock and shine a light on rampant counterfeiting of DVDs which used to take place in the dark shadows.”
(These quotes aren’t in the other stories I’ve seen, but I like them anyway. If they’re made up, oh well.)
I think we’ve discussed before how these sort of things are far from happening in the shadows.
