Broadway Improvements from TEA?
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — I just noticed in an LA Times piece on Congress preparing to pass the Transporation Equity Act that Broadway is supposed to get $2.5 million for pedestrian improvements. That was the first that I had heard of this, though with the way TEA funding actually works it was probably negotiated several years before I even made my way to LA. I'm very interested to find some more details about what would be done with these funds.

it's a little bit of a head-scratcher for me why it is that the federal government would be kicking in for this. it must be one of those craft applications of their interstate commerce powers.
