Jim Winstead Chronicles Heist Filming
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Jim Winstead's had a great view over the past few days into filming that's been taking place at the Farmer's and Merchants Bank. Check out all three of his posts on the topic: the first, where he watches the film heist and then find they're shooting a pilot for the spin-off tv series a tv series with the same name across the street that very day; the second, where he thinks one of the actresses was checking him out; and the third, where he spots director Doug Liman on set.
I walked by that set a couple times over the past week, and I couldn't help but enjoy the generic names they give to film and TV companies. "Bank National"? It's also odd seeing the interior of the Farmers and Merchants building with a full bank setup -- desks, computers, banners, etc.

one of my favorite little touches of how they've turned the bank into "bank national" is the "idic" logo on the poster on the front. just a little graphical tweak of the usual "fdic" logo.
the film and series aren't actually related, they just happen to share the same name.
