CLA Recommends LATC to LTC

The Daily News reports that the CLA's office recommends Latino Theatre Company as operator of the Los Angeles Theater Center. This is an issue that's dragged on for a long, long time and even just my coverage of this latest round has comprised quite a number of posts. At the bottom of this post I'll try and put together a timeline of what I've written about the LATC saga.

The CLA's Report (PDF) is a good read if you're interested in the scoring process that was used. I'll limit my comment to just saying that I will be very excited to see the contractually required 150 days of programming per year occuring at LATC. No matter who's providing it, that will be good for the neighborhood.

As I'll echo Tom Gilmore's quote from the Daily News piece:

"If nothing else, this has been an informative roller-coaster ride," said Tom Gilmore, a developer known for his downtown loft projects. "Which turn it takes now will be anybody's guess."
