An Unlikely Locomotive
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — My boss and I were just doing a drive around the industrial parts of Downtown double-checking a map we're doing for CRA when we came along a sight that was too good to pass by.
We came to this spur at the corner of 25th and 24th and had to turn because of rail cars moving across 25th street. As we do we see that the cars are being pushed and pulled (a couple in front, one behind) not by a locomotive, but by a front loader.
That's definitely the first time I've run across that. I thought it good enough to stretch my definition of Downtown a bit and pass it on here.

Two weekends ago I saw a police car literally 'push' a car that had stalled on the left-most lane, all the way to the right lane. Granted, this was in Pasadena and not DT.
