No News; Just Parts

Red Helicopter Eric Richardson

The sound of a helicopter hovering over Downtown always makes me think I’m missing some bit of news. The longer it lingers the more I get the urge to go investigate and figure out what’s going on.

This morning I woke up just a bit ago to chopper sounds and ended up heading up to the roof to investigate. Instead of news it was a delivery: pieces of machinery getting delivered to the roof of One Wilshire. Interestingly, that same building was the site of early-morning chopper delivery just over a year ago, though then it was with a much cooler Skycrane.

Photo isn’t of this morning’s bird, just a random chopper shot from back in January.

I just tried to walk down Grand, south from 6th and was stopped by a guy in an LAPD baseball cap who told me FAA regulations prevented me from walking down that block while the helicopter is working; he said it should wrap-up soon.

I woke up this morning to the sound of cement trucks. As of right now (11 am Sat.), there are at least thirty trucks lined up along the street, ready to pour a foundation at 9th & Flower.
