Adoro Mexican Grille: Saturday Lunch on the "Westside"

Went by this place two weeks ago and it already has been getting a regular lunch crowd.

Thanks for the tip. We are always walking around for a place to eat during the weekend. The westside of downtown? Can I get the marine layer here too?

My partner and I went to Adoro Grill because the wait at CPK was too long and we've become addicts ever since. The first time we went was only the second night Adoro Grill has been open and we had the best Mexican Food ever! Even the Rice, which at most restaurants is dry and tasteless was moist and flavorful. Even the simple dishes such as the Shredded Beef Hard Shell Tacos was great and made with care. Top them with the fabulous Guacamole and Sour Cream and you have the quintessential Mexican meal but on the highest plane possible. The entire staff including the owners are friendly beyond belief. I felt like one of the family immediately. The bar is reasonable and has great margaritas. You have to go here. The best Mexican food in the L.A. area!

i on the other hand, did not get a good experience with this restaurant. Ordering carry outs is a huge problem, when i first called they told me to call in 15 minutes because it was busy. Not that it was a big deal since i work in a near by building. I called again and tried to place my order, they put me on hold to see if they had take out boxes. Thirdly, when they said yes and placed the order an appetizer that was $9.00 on the menu was changed to $18.00......? horrifying. That should be the price for a entree plate NOT an appetizer. Never eating at this place!!! rude phone service

Weekdays may be better, but avoid lunch on the weekend. Had the carnitas michoacan for lunch on Saturday. Terrible. Dry and tasteless. The tortillas were hard and dried-out at the edges, and the center was rubbery. Have had better food at half the price. Service was indifferent. When told the food not good, there was no response except a shrug as the server walked away.
