Friday Farmers Market Gets a Dedication
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — In the midst of all the excitement over Ralphs' new store it would be easy to overlook the dedication of another Downtown market. Councilwoman Jan Perry was on hand to present plaques and certificates to those involved in getting the Friday Farmers' Market at Bank of America Plaza up and running.
With a new grocery store and farmers' markets taking place three days a week -- not to mention old options like Grand Central Market -- Downtown has sure seen an impressive growth in produce over the past two years.
Update (2:40pm): Also, Ed just pointed out that yesterday was the rededication of the City Hall Farmers' Market, freshly relocated from Little Tokyo. He had coverage of that on his blog. As he just said on the phone, "It really is produce week here in Downtown."
