Saturday: Uptown Underground at the Music Center
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES —
KCRW DJ Jason Bentley is part of the lineup for Uptown Underground, a free event taking place this Saturday at the Music Center Plaza. While the music plays a series of "hyper-slow-motion" videos will be projected onto large screens set up around the Music Center fountain. The videos are part of a piece titled Slow Dancing.
KCRW's event page gives a better description of the evening's visual component:
Slow Dancing, commissioned by Dance at the Music Center, is a series of 43 larger-than-life portraits projected on 16-foot screens revealing each dancer's technique and expression. This fascinating portrayal of human movement challenges the limits of perception while highlighting dance as poetry in motion. The dancers include today's foremost modern and ballet artists, krump artist Lil C, Bill T. Jones and many others.
Definitely looks to be an event worth making your way all the way up the hill to check out.
