No Such Thing as Too Many Markets

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Wednesday saw developer Mark Weinstein continued this week’s theme of ”breaking the bread,” welcoming a farmers market to his Santee Village complex. The new market brings Downtown’s total to six.
Weinstein, Councilmember Jan Perry and Jessica McLean (representing Jose Huizar’s office) posed with a large pretzel, pulling it apart once the berry-holding, suit-and-tie wearing crowd got ugly (Who says Downtown has lost it’s edge?).
The Fashion District Farmers Market will run every Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm. Each of Downtown’s six markets can be found on this map.
Above, Jan Perry poses with a piece of giant pretzel. Right, Jaclyn Hallelb shows off the market's produce choices.
