Fast Food Shoots Downtown Next Week

Burger King: Remodeling or Closed? Eric Richardson

Next week looks to be oddly fast food heavy for a Downtown where it's increasingly harder to find a quick burger. Film notifications for McDonalds, Burger King and KFC all came across the wire in succession this evening.

Bob Industries shoots for KFC Monday and Wednesday on the plaza at Union Bank Tower (445 S. Figueroa). Pretty Bird Picture shoots the Burger King spot Tuesday and Wednesday in Pershing Square. And finally Konk, Inc swoops in Wednesday to shoot the one day McDonalds spot in Maguire Gardens.

While it's not at all odd for these sort of spots to get shot Downtown (what isn't, after all?), it's a bit funny to see all three taking place on the same days and in very similar settings.

I'm guessing Super Bowl Sunday ads although that is a tight post-production turnaround. Perhaps this week's rain delayed their shooting days.

You will also find that January is far and away the worst month for business for fast serve restaurants, so perhaps this was the best time to film.
