Seven Showroom Opening on "The Intersection"

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — For those not in the industrial, it’s easy to miss the activity happening in the Fashion District. Apparel News reports this week that Seven Licensing / Tarrant are opening an 8,000 sq. ft. showroom on the corner of 9th and Los Angeles.
Brands under the Seven Licensing Co. banner include Chevignon, Indian Rock Culture, ReRock, Seven7 and KitsonLA, which is a license with high-profile Robertson Boulevard boutique Kitson. The showroom will also house Tarrant’s Marisa K collection.
Paris-based Buddha-Bar will also a lounge in the showroom.
Showroom buildings and tradeshows have gotten together to promote this corner as “The Intersection.” The California Market Center, New Mart and Cooper Design Center are on three corners, and this new spot means that all four corners will be in high profile operation. Interesting stat: The 1,200 showrooms in the buildings on The Intersection carry 4,500 lines of clothing.

Interesting that the Fashion District is becoming more fashion-ey and the Flower District is becoming more “flowery.”
Now all we need is more Chinese business in Chinatown and Japanese businesses in Little Tokyo.
Do they also own the “7 Jeans” label ?? If so … AWESOME !!!

Maybe it’s time I bought real 7’s instead of counterfeit knockoffs. Our Fashion District is moving up nicely.

I’m glad to see the fashion district is still growing and thriving with new business opportunities. So many people forget or unfortunately don’t know that the garment district is one of the economic backbones of our local economy.
Come warmer weather, perhaps they could shut down the intersection for a fashion show: does Sports Illustrated still have it’s annual swimsuit edition? I’d LOVE to see Jeff Stryker parade around in one of Mossimo’s latest thongs. Pedestrian traffic in the area would rise, in quick order and great magnitude. Merchants would smile.
I am thinking of starting a clothing line, would the Intersection help market market the clothes?
