Downtown's Blog Talk Gets a Little Quieter
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Big news on the Downtown blog front today, as Rich posts that Angelenic is scaling back.
As angelenic has grown over the past year, it’s been a life-changing experience. Making many new friends and meeting optimistic small-business owners and residents has been so fulfilling for Stephen and me.
Unfortunately, the demands on our time over the past few months have been so great that it’s finally caught up with us. Between a full-time career for Stephen, and both work and school for me, it’s become impossible to keep up.
Stephen has decided to leave angelenic, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to scale back as well. So even though I’ll still be posting here, the updates will be much less frequent.
It's easy to forget that it was just back in late September that Rich added Stephen to the site and the two really went at it full steam. It's remarkable what they had accomplished in so little time, but also easy to understand how expending that much energy can lead to a need to step back. The rest of us will need to step up our game to make up for their absence.

Immensely disappointing. I'm very sorry to hear this.

# on Mar.31.2008 AT 05:01 PMBlogdowntown is good for more of the social and esoteric aspects of downtown, while Angelenic has been good for more of the commercial, inside-economic facets of downtown. One is (or was) a nice complement of the other.
The community that is downtown now will be a bit quieter and less up-to-date and in-the-know now that one half of two of central LA's leading blogs is cutting back.
