It's Monday, April 6, and Council wants to name the new LAPD Headquarters south of City Hall "Parker Center." Also on the agendas this week, a restaurant operator for 2nd and Main, possible sale of city parking meters, and a hearing on allowing Cedd Moses to expand his growing empire of Downtown bars into the Industrial District.

It's Monday, March 30, and the city's on holiday in observance of Cesar Chavez day. City Council returned from recess last Friday, and this week holds a full slate of Council and committee meetings. Downtown's attention should be focused on filming and congestion.

It's Monday, March 16, and around City Hall this week things are quiet. City Council's on recess, so there's little to speak of in the way of items moving through the halls of government. Those with a need for regularly scheduled civic involvement should take note of a special Tuesday DLANC meeting, featuring a Town Hall on the future of the Rosslyn Hotel.

It's Monday, March 9, and it's a light week for Downtown items on the Council calendar. As usual, money is a big topic, and Monday's only item is a meeting of Budget & Finance. Other items wind their way through Council after previously showing up in committee, including a contract with the Project for Public Spaces to look at streets as placemaking.

It's Monday, March 2nd, and Downtown's looking to get a make-over thanks to new rules headed to Council's Planning and Land Use Management committee. The Downtown Design Guidelines set out standards for more people-friendly streets and development.

It's Monday, February 23, and while the week starts off slow, there's a lot on City Council agendas that Downtowners should be keeping their eye on. The first half of the week is heavy on transportation items, features a high stakes game of chicken over 3,000 daily tons of garbage, and offers an extension on interim controls over signage.
