LAPD Looking for Pellet Gun Assailant at Santa Fe Lofts

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — LAPD Central Division is looking for information on a person or persons suspected of shooting a pellet gun down toward security guards and homeless individuals on 6th street. The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 7th, and while no one was injured, officers aren't taking this lightly.

Los Angeles police detectives are investigating the assault against local security guards and homeless persons in the vicinity of the Santa Fe lofts on October 7, 2008.
Anyone with information as to the identity of the person(s) who shot pellets from an air gun at security guards and homeless on the sidewalk near Sixth and Los Angeles Streets is asked to call detectives at the number listed below.
While no one was injured in the latest attack, it is no less a crime. Detectives suspect the shots originated from the third or fourth floors of the Santa Fe Lofts, as they face Sixth Street.
Detectives will use information to obtain search warrants and make arrests. Those arrests persons will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. As a felony, a person convicted of such an assault can be sentenced to State prison.
As there is significant public interest in such attacks on the homeless, the arrest of any perpetrators will be publicized with the local news media.
