The empty gallery at Pharmaka's former space on the corner of 5th and Main.

It feels safe to say that Pharmaka's move from its corner spot at 5th and Main marks a new chapter in the evolving story of Downtown's Gallery Row. What story it will tell remains to be seen.

The influential gallery was one of the cornerstones of Gallery Row and the Art Walk.

Thankfully, it isn't moving that far, and the next-door lobby space it will inhabit will be larger than the one it is leaving. Furniture store (Sub)Urban Home will open on the corner, and word is that some of Pharmaka's art will still hang on the walls.

Often we guess how an area will change, but sometimes we just need to wait and see what happens. It's the surprise that makes Downtown so interesting.

are you guys going to run a piece on the furniture store? the store looks really good in our area. I live at the Ross lofts and really am thankful they are on their since they make that corner look SOO much better and light it up pretty nice at night when before it was such a sad and shady corner..
