An eviction notice was posted yesterday on the outside of the Olympic Blvd. building intended to house Schmidt's Brauhaus.

While the restaurant's website still claims that the German eatery will be opening in "early 2010," an eviction notice posted on the exterior of says otherwise. The notice, posted yesterday morning by the Sheriff's Department, bars the those associated with the restaurant from entering the former Discount Tire Center on Olympic and Olive.

The restaurant was intended to be a German restaurant and beer garden, offering traditional fare such as sausage, pretzels, schnitzel and roasts. Proprietors Eugenia Chung and Klaus Schmidt signed a lease on the space in early 2008, but the eatery has seen many claimed opening dates come and go.

Work on the restaurant revealed a simple brick structure under the Discount Tire Center's metal sheeted exterior. Inside, framing and electrical work had looked to be moving along nicely before it seemed work was stopped a few months back.

The Unlawful Detainer case was filed on September 1 with the Los Angeles Superior Court. A judgement regarding possession of the premises was issued on November 6.

A call to the contact number listed on the restaurant's website was not immediately returned.
