Chipotle Mexican Grill Coming to 7th and Grand
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Denver-based Chipotle Mexican Grill has landed Downtown, signing a lease on a 3,100-square-foot space after a year-long search for the right location in the neighborhood. That pursuit led the company to 601 W. 7th, a two-story retail building on the corner of Grand Avenue, just one block from major competitor Qdoba.
The distinctive dark glass facade has been shown as being up for possible removal in the past, but will not change as part of the Chipotle project, states Tim Miller, vice president at Jones Lang LaSalle, who brokered the deal signed in mid-July. Valerio Architecture will be handling the interior redesign; the firm has led the design process on many Chipotle locations in California.
Building permits are in the process of being finalized, with an opening tentatively scheduled for November.

I have a tip about Chipotle...go in and pretend you're lost and confused...stand in the wrong place and act dumb. They give free guacamole to first-timers!

I wish they'd redo the outside, but I'm excited to have a Chipotle downtown. No more waiting in line for 45 minutes at the location across from USC!

That exterior is awesome...for 1989. Ah, heck, wait a few more years, it'll be back in style again.

What happened with this Chipotle? It hasn't opened yet and doesn't look like it's very close. Is it still happening?
