About Us
blogdowntown exists to start a conversation about life in Downtown Los Angeles. The site was started by Eric Richardson in January of 2005 and serves as a central point for news and discussion of Downtown Los Angeles.
The goal of the site is to cover Downtown from a pedestrian perspective. News to us is what we see in our day to day lives. We feel that Downtown will become what its residents make it. We want blogdowntown to be a place where those of us who live and work here can have a conversation about what Downtown is and what it can become.
Navigating the Site
No, we're not doubting your intelligence or your ability to figure things out on your own, but sometimes it can be nice to get a few pointers.
The Home Page tries to present an overview of what's going on around the site. The top stories are stories that we've marked as features — ones we want to make particularly sure you see and read.
Latest Content provides a chronological view of the newest content on the site.
Sections like Everyday Living, Growth & Development and Arts & Culture break down our content by subject area.
And finally, to find old stuff you might check out the Archives or the On This Date view, which gives the ability to put in a date and see what's been posted to the site in different years.
