Pop-up preparations are underway at the Regent Theater, which will become Third Man Records for three days starting Wednesday.
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Main street's Regent Theater is sporting a distinctly different look this week, but it's only temporary.
The venue at 448 S. Main will act as a three-day pop-up store for , the label run by White Stripes frontman Jack White, and the building has received a paint job in preparation.
The store, Third Man Records and Novelties, will be open Wednesday, August 26, through Friday, August 28. It will sell merchandise by White's three musical endeavors: the White Stripes, the Raconteurs and the Dead Weather.
Festivities will get underway Wednesday at noon with a free concert by White's latest band, The Dead Weather. Admission to the show will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so expect to see a line-up on Main street Wednesday morning.
The pop-up is the continuation of a relationship between White and Downtown's , which runs the Regent and its retail spaces. Little Radio hosted a screening of a filmed Dead Weather show in the Regent in July.
Third Man Records has a permanent store in Nashville, TN, and in July opened a two-day pop-up in New York City.
