Barney's Warehouse Sale Play by Play

Those of us who are more Fashion Weak than Fashion Week will spend this coming Sunday wearing jeans and watching the Super Bowl.

For a different demographic, playbook study is already underway for the chance to score some designer clothing and shoes at the next Barney's Warehouse Sale, which starts tomorrow at the Convention Center.

After a full day of making purchases, the soundbites will be as rich as any you hear from NFL Films. "Well, our backs were against the wall, but a sign of a true champion is getting a fringe cocktail dress." "I just had to play my game and thankfully, we scored some Christian Louboutin." "I got my husband a Shipley & Halmos blazer for 30% off. It was a good win and a confidence booster."

At these sales, shoppers come to play –– and will play hurt. There is no replay. No challenge to a referees call. Heck, there is no referee in sight. If there is pileup on a fumbled pair of last year's Stella McCartneys, the winner is the one left holding the stiletto.

Why did you laeave Santa Minica? It is too hard to drive downtown from the Westside.
