Darrell Bailey, better known as "Clipper Darrell," leads fans in a parade around Staples Center.
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — The Lakers may be the home team inside Staples Center tonight, but a group of devoted Clippers fans made their voices heard outside the arena today in an effort to encourage Lebron James to sign with the team.
The Clippers are one of many teams that will be trying to woo the Cleveland Cavaliers star, who officially becomes a free agent on July 1.
Thursday's march was organized by Darrell Bailey, better known as Cliipper Darrell. Bailey emphasized to the 60 or so fans who gathered on Nokia Plaza that the day was about Lebron, not the Lakers. He then led the march down Chick Hearn Court, leading cheers of "Let's go Lebron."
Bailey has been making the media rounds in advance of today's parade. He hopes television coverage of the event will make its way to Lebron and provide the critical push to get "King James" to the team.
