Starbucks Furniture Set to Return

The barren exterior of the Starbucks at 11th and Grand should be back to normal soon.
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — It's been just about a month since the Starbucks at 11th and Grand lost its outdoor seating, leaving a barren exterior to the normally inviting space. Good news, though: the permit situation has been resolved, and the furniture should be returning within the week.
The coffee shop opened two years ago, the first in South Park. Since then, two additional locations have opened, one at the AT&T Center and the other at L.A. Live.
Until this fall, no one noticed that the permits for Starbucks' outdoor furniture had never actually been applied for. While one side is on private property, the space on the Grand Avenue side of the building extends into the public right-of-way. Now, the correct permits have been granted and it's just up to Starbucks to return the pieces to their proper place.
