A DASH bus travels south on Spring Street in 2010.

Fares for Downtown's DASH buses will rise to 50 cents on July 1, completing a two-year fare hike approved last June.

Last year's move from a quarter to 35 cents was the first fare hike since LADOT launched its DASH service in 1985. The "Downtown Area Short Hop" service replaced RTD's minibuses, which first launched in 1971 with a fare of 10 cents.

As part of the fare change, DASH monthly passes will rise to $18. While Metro passes haven't been honored for a DASH ride since 2008, EZ Pass is still accepted.

More DASH information can be found at ladottransit.com. Real-time arrival information can be found at dtdash.com.
